Banning People From Alano has Precedent

That Alano Club of Chilliwack is a safe place for people to come to enjoy the serenity and peace of recovery from addiction.

The Alano Club has Codes of Conduct. Some behaviors are specifically mentioned, such as drug or alcohol use on the property. Other behaviors that are not consistent with the purpose of Alano are determined on a case by case basis. Code of conduct is posted on our bulletin board ,

Alano deals swiftly with some behavior. People have been banned for making inappropriate sexual comments.   People  can  be banned for sexual comments about children of people participating in social activities.

People who act in an intimidating manner can  also  be banned.  If   a member is acting in a manner that felt intimidating to others in the meeting.  Example  of strutting  around glaring at people in what was perceived as a threatening manner. Can be  banned from Alano property.

People who have disrupted the purpose of a serene atmosphere for recovery will  also be banned. Anyone who has a history of intimidation at Alano will be banned based on any minor current event that harkens back to their history.

Alano does not tolerate inappropriate sexual contact, comments, or behavior that is in any way uncomfortable to others present

General negativity along with a loud and constantly complaining attitude is inconsistent with the purpose of Alano.

People have violated their ban in the past.  They were arrested and prosecuted for trespassing.  This precedent is clear and will be followed in the future.

Alano continues to strive for an atmosphere of positive recovery.
